Equine-Assisted EMDR Therapy Training

As an Equine Therapist, and avid horsewoman, experience tells me that folks who know about EMDR and Equine Therapies intuitively “get” that these two therapies can be integrated. The challenge comes in that they can get “stuck” trying to figure out how to build a bridge so that these two modalities can be brought together.

In 2011, my answer to this was to premiere the EquiLateral: The Equine-Assisted EMDR (EA-EMDR) Protocol™ and EA-EMDR training (approved for 15 EMDR International Association Credits).

EMDR Therapists and Equine-Specialists are invited to learn the EMDRIA Approved EquiLateral: Equine-Assisted EMDR Protocol which mindfully incorporates equine-assisted interactions within the eight-phased, three-pronged, standard EMDR protocol to become Equine-Assisted EMDR.

My EMDRIA Approved EA-EMDR training runs approximately 2-3 times a year, and primarily on location at my ranchette located in Chandler, Arizona. EMDR Therapists and Equine-Specialists can discover more details about EA-EMDR, the overall approach, as well as training details and requirements via my website eaemdr.com.

Simply put, the Equilateral: EA-EMDR practicum exceeded my highest expectations. I went with an open mind and wasn’t disappointed. Sarah Jenkins is an expert in her field and it showed because she developed the Equilateral: EA-EMDR protocol. If you’ve ever been in the presence of a great teacher who is truly gifted you know what I’m talking about. This was a unique experience that is one of the top trainings I have ever attended. She also made certain that the participants were qualified to be there. That made a big difference in the interactions with had with each other. What I liked a lot was Sarah’s ability to engage the participants so that no one felt left out.
